S. Korea sees more than 6,000 COVID cases on Thursday

South Korea's COVID-19 tally topped 6-thousand over the past 24 hours.
South Korea saw 6,603 new infections on Thursday, rising almost 800 from the day before.
There were 246 imported cases and 488 critically ill patients.
But health authorities are expecting the number of total cases to push even higher.
Health authorities are forecasting daily tallies to top 7-thousand by the weekend with Omicron quickly becoming the dominant strain.
