North Korea's state media reported Saturday that Pyeongyang's railway-based missile regiment staged a firing drill the previous day, with two tactical guided missiles hitting a target in the East Sea.
That marks the North's second known launch using a railway platform following the first one in September.
It's already the third show of force of the new year.
Experts note the missiles appear to be the KN-23 type, modeled after Russia's Iskander mobile ballistic missile.
Friday's launch came just eight hours after the regime warned of a (quote)"stronger and certain reaction" to Washington's latest blacklisting of six North Koreans for their roles in procuring equipment and technology for the North's weapons programs.
