Moon meets with CIA chief, calls U.S. alliance 'foundation' of S. Korea's security

President Moon Jae-in, in his meeting this morning with CIA Director William Burns, called the alliance with the U.S. the foundation of South Korea's security.
The Blue House said President Moon and Burns held in-depth discussions on strengthening bilateral intelligence cooperation and the situation on the Korean Peninsula.
Moon said close intelligence cooperation between the allies is what supports the alliance expressing hope to expand that to cyber security and the prevention of international crime and terrorism.
Burns was quoted as saying that he respects Moon's committment and efforts for the establishment of peace on the Peninsula, adding that he will do his part to further solidify the alliance.
