North Korean leader Kim Jong-un says that he will work towards improving people's living conditions.
This was said during a lecture on Monday to mark the 76th founding anniversary of the regime's ruling Workers' Party.
The North's state media reports that Kim's lecture addressed the need to resolve problems relating to food, clothing and shelter for the next five years.
This comes as Kim remains determined to carry out the party's five-year economic plan set earlier this year.
Kim also warned party officials to refrain from "infringing" on the interests of the people.
The regime's leader did not mention inter-Korean ties or the U.S.
