And for that, I'm joined on the line by Dr. Yang Jun-sok, professor of economics at the Catholic University of Korea.

U.S. stocks had a strong recovery overnight with second quarter earnings coming out from major companies and hope for a recovery in the economy. What's the story in the global markets today?

Rising oil prices have pushed up the price of Korea's imports over the last couple of months. But then semiconductors, one of Korea's main exports, have been fetching lower prices. What's going on there?

Because of the pandemic, foreign direct investment in Korea was down in the first half of the year. This could pose a problem for the government's plans for investment in cutting-edge sectors. What effect will this actually have on the Korean economy, and how can we get FDI coming back in?
