S. Korea sees 17% y/y increase in Q1 exports from new industries

Despite the drop in South Korea's overall exports due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the country's new industries have seen their exports soar.
According to the Korea International Trade Association, or KITA, …exports of next-generation sectors such as semiconductors, biohealth products and electric vehicles …rose 17 percent on year in the first quarter to a total of 21 billion U.S. dollars.
KITA predicted that global demand will continue to grow for healthcare products and digital equipment for online meetings and lectures.
