Dr. Kim Sun-nam has long spread a helping hand out to the poor and disadvantaged around the world.

Kim leads Global Care, the first international medical relief NGO to be based in Seoul. A single aim to help others has led him across the country and around the globe. Everyday he seeks out more people to help-the low income elderly, immigrant workers and many others who have been forgotten by the medical establishment.

Global Care has branches in 9 different countries including Vietnam, Laos and Kenya. Each office organizes free moving clinics and operations in their region, expanding Kim's vision of global sharing.

In this episode we follow Dr. Kim on his visit to Global Care Vietnam. As well as contributing his time to the moving clinic, Kim studies the local medical system and looks for ways to increase medical exchange and cooperation between Korean and Vietnamese doctors.

In Vietnam, a major sanitary issuse is the use of contaminated water for drinking, causing a variety of water-borne diseases. In an attempt to change this, Global Care has installed water purifiers in approximately 9,000 households so far. Following further request from local authorities in 2007, the water purification and moving clinic have continued.

A young girl of 17 named Thao meets Kim during his medical tour in Vietnam. Thao lives in the country side, a whole 3 hours from the center of the town and any sort of medical care. Thanks to Global Care, she received heart surgery in Korea in 2008 and is now enjoying her life as a happy and healthy high school student.

Kim Sun-nam believes that sharing can create hope and foster new life. His medical practice of love is bearing miracles which have crossed the boarders of Korea and spread out to the world.
