Report on 12 episodes of ArirangTV's special documentary, G-KOREA:


ArirangTV will be broadcasting its special documentary, G-KOREA, for 12 consecutive weeks. G-KOREA is composed of three themes: 'Beauty of Korea', 'Koreans in the World', and 'Traveling around Korea'.

First, 'Beauty of Korea' comprises three episodes. The three episodes are: Korean Makeup Style-the hot issue around the world, globalization of traditional Korean paper 'Hanji', and the Five Traditional colors of Korea(blue, white, red, yellow, black) called 'Obangsaek'.

The episodes under the theme 'Koreans in the World' look at the great achievements of Koreans around the world, such as Choi Young Jin. Choi Young Jin is the UN Special Representative of the Secretary General, serving in Ivory Coast. He has devoted and sacrificed himself to bring democracy to Ivory Coast, which has recently suffered a devastating civil war.

The episodes under the theme 'Traveling around Korea' introduce various sites in Korea: Pyeong-Chang, which has succeeded in hosting the 2018 Winter Olympics, Jeju Island, which has been selected as finalist for the New Seven Wonders of Nature, and the beautiful nature and ecosystem around four major rivers in Korea, examining the lives of people who live on the riverside.

The episodes of the program G-KOREA is filled with diverse topics that will  enable people to experience Korean traditions, history and culture. Moreover, these episodes will allow people to see the sudden changes in Korea today and suggest possible future of Korean culture. These episodes will provide foreigners with the chance to discover diverse cultures of Korea.

The 12 episodes of special documentary G-KOREA will be broadcasted worldwide in 188 countries, starting with 'Jeju Island' episode on the 16th of November. Also, these episodes will be made into DVDs which will be distributed to Korean Cultural Centers abroad, offering not only foreigners but also Koreans overseas the chance to watch these episodes.
