"A strong bridge that connects American mainstream and Korean community"

Young Kim was honored by the World Affairs Council with the distinction of ¡°Rise of the Asian Woman¡± and the Asian Business Association named her an ¡°Advocate for the Asian Americans through Politics¡± in Orange County.  Additionally, the Korean American Federation recognized her as ¡°Community Bridge Builder¡± for her service as chapter President of the Korean American Coalition. 
Ms. Kim received the American Marshall Memorial Fellowship which allowed her to travel to Europe to discuss transatlantic issues. She serves as an interlocutor between Members of the U.S. Congress and the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea through the U.S.-Republic of Korea Inter-parliamentary Exchange Program.

Besides being an active member in the Korean Community, Ms. Kim is the District Representative to U.S. Congressman Ed Royce (CA-40) and the Director of Asian Community Relations.  She serves as a liaison to the cities in the district by handling Asian community issues. Ms. Kim helped to establish the Asian Pacific Congressional Advisory Council (APCAC) which aims to foster a better relationship between the Asian-American community and the U.S. Congress.  She is married to Charles J. Kim, a Founder and National President of the Korean American Coalition.
