In the fall of 1953 in the immediate aftermath of the Korean war, Oriental Teahouse provides a haven for artists and intellectuals to develop their artistry and academic work. However, teahouse regular Baek Doo-hwan is found murdered, and a military detective comes into the teahouse to gather information on the murder victim and to size up the suspects.
