The World On arirang

As the pandemic prolongs, the distance between individuals has stretched as far as our distance with the stars. We introduce a short film that comes as a present to all of us, who desperately need time to look back on our days and listen to each others’ hearts. [The Stars Whisper] is a musical film that illustrates the tale of Yeon-hee, who has a hearing impairment, becomes friends with a boy named Young-jun at a school after moving to the countryside. As the winner of the Special Jury Prize at the 18th Mise-en-scene Short Film Festival, this coming-of-age story portrays a moment where a girl and a boy are brought and connected with one another magically. Director Yeo Seon-hwa, who also starred and produced the musical, tells us how the film was created.
