The history of Korean animations

‘Red Shoes and the Seven Dwarfs’ is the first Korean animation to make the preliminary list for the Best Animated Feature Film at the 2021 Academy Awards. It is an indication that Korean animations can compete with globally renowned projects! But when was the origin of Korean animation? From the first animation film ‘A Story of Hong Gil-dong’ released in 1967 to the 70s classic for children ‘Robot Taekwon V,’ the beloved TV series ‘Dooly the Little Dinosaur,’ and the most recent ‘Red Shoes and the Seven Dwarfs!’ We follow the trail of Korean animation’s history.
