The Internet of Things, or IoT, enables a world where virtually everything is interconnected from objects and people to data. The technology has emerged as the next big thing in the global tech scene, and the global IoT market is expected to reach US$ 1.1 tril. by 2022. We visited the IoT Korea Exhibition 2016 to talk to representatives from leading players including Intel and LoRa Alliance and find out where IoT technology stands today and how it will change our lives. Today, IoT applications are most widely used in homes. In Korea, mobile carriers and consumer electronics brands are leading efforts to bring IoT technology to homes.
