Incheon International Airport Corp. has become the first airport in the world that was inducted into Global Traveler's Hall of Fame after winning the international travel magazine's award for the world's best airport for 10 straight years. It already has the world's top status, being ranked the third busiest airport by international cargo traffic, the ninth busiest airport by international passengers and accumulated users of 400 million people. But its competition with neighboring countries' airports has become fiercer. Japan's Haneda Airport has increased international routes, while China, which had relatively less long distance flights, has also boosted direct international routes, challenging the global hub airport. As a result, the ratio of transfer passengers to total international passengers at Incheon Airport is falling. We will find out what issues lie ahead of Incheon Airport in 2015 and which directions it should take.
