Michael Lee is a Korean-American musical actor hailing from Brooklyn, NY. He began studying the violin at age 5, and continued to play throughout junior high and high school while also excelling in his studies and athletics. A pre-med student at Stanford University, Lee had planned to become a doctor following in the footsteps of his father and older brother. He began, however, to explore art fields, joining an a cappella group called Fleet Street Singers and, from his sophomore year, taking classes in musical theater. In 1994, he auditioned for a role in "Miss Saigon" and began his Broadway career in 1995.
Since his debut at 22 years old, he has taken many lead roles and won numerous awards for his work.
