[Issue] The Korean Wave in Colombia
 
This year marks the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Korea and Colombia. Cultural exchange between the two countries has been booming lately and, as a result, the Korean Wave is making a splash in Colombia. The Korean pop group U-Kiss was invited to perform at Colombia's biggest pop concert. In addition, Korean cultural contents and consumer products are growing in popularity in Colombia."Insight" explores the Korean Wave sweeping across Colombia.

The number of single person households are rising dramatically in Korea. These households consist not only of unmarried people but also of elderly citizens and divorced people. Single person households are growing so rapidly analysts say that they actually swayed the results of Korea's general election in April. Not only are single person households growing in political clout, but they're also becoming an important market for companies. "Insight" investigates how the rise of single person households affects Korean society as a whole.

What were the ten best-selling items in North Korea last year?The Samsung Economic Research Institute says the number one item on the list was briquettes, blocks of compressed charcoal that are used as fuel. North Korea boosted its production of coal in 2011 and some of that spilled into the country's black markets. North Korea's second best-selling item was platform shoes for women. Products made in South Korea, such as the snacks Choco Pie and coffee mixes, were also on the best-selling list. "Insight" takes a closer look at the best-selling products in North Korea to see what kind of change is sweeping through North Korea.
