The World On arirang

The 'Korea Green Technology and Industry Exhibition' opened at the Songdo Convention Center in Incheon at the end of last month. Domestic and foreign companies were able to showcase and check out new green technological inventions, and in order to promote continuing research and development, the Korean Intellectual Property Office has implemented a high-speed patent registering system for green technologies. Being the fastest system in the world, it's possible to get a patent in as short as 3 months, when usually it would take 18 months. Quick commercialization of patented inventions is now available to companies and research institutes, and hopefully Korea and the world will have much to look forward to within the green technology industry.

People have recognized that the waste of goods leads to carbon output, and this has led to an increase of donations and philanthropic activity. There is a wide range of goodwill donations; from household appliances and food donations to inexpensive rentals of donated wedding dresses, these contribute a great deal to those who are in need. Although helping out the less fortunate is on the forefront of people's minds, there is also the gift of helping out the environment that people all over are in the act of giving.

A veritable "paradise garden," Sobaeksan National Park is known for both its beautiful floral landscape from spring to autumn as well as its magnificent wintry view during the winter. The third largest mountainous national park in Korea, it is part of a mountain range that forms the symbolic backbone of the country's east coast.
