A handful of young people have left their schools and jobs to let the world know about Korea's bibimbap on their own. They have only one goal: to globalize Korean food that will captivate the taste buds of the six billion people of the world!
In "Bibimbap Backpackers", a two part series documentary, we learn the charm of bibimbap while following the eight-month journey of the five young people who have roamed the world for the globalization of Korean food.
This documentary shows approx. 100 food tasting events of "Taste Bibimbap" held in 4 continents, beginning in Beijing, going across Asia, visiting Thailand, India, etc, and traveling through Europe, South America, and North America. This program tells the story of the young people's vigor and passion, the hardships and difficulties they went through, and the glorious moments they experienced.
Part 1. Backpacking on the Bibim Road Before taking on this challenge, the five young people visit Jeonju, the birthplace of bibimbap, in order to properly learn about Korean bibimbap. After two months of camp training, they invite guests from the embassy and hold a food tasting event in Spain, which is the gateway to Europe. Will they achieve their goal of holding 100 bibimbap tasting events in 15 countries across 4 continents?
