Black Eagles, the only aerobatic team that represents the air force of Korea! These artists of the air fly across the azure sky. The aerobatic team began in 1953 on Armed Forces Day with four F-51 Mustangs. In 2009, they converted supersonic advanced trainers into T-50Bs, the first to be produced in Korea. With these new aircrafts, more detailed and diverse aerobatics are now possible.
The Republic of Korea Air Force Aerobatic Team, Black Eagles, has been invited to various military related events including the Seoul ADEX. They represent the excellent air force power with their astounding flying skills, exhibiting diverse high level mobility in the sky. In order to join the Black Eagles, one must have the qualifications of a flight leader who has more than 800 hours of flying, who ranks in the upper 30% grade level of the flight training course, and can command four fighter planes. Also, one must have unanimous approval of the entire members of the team. This is because teamwork is equally important as the ability to fly. We present to you the extraordinary high level flying skills that shine through organized team work of The Republic of Korea Air Force Aerobatic Team, Black Eagles.
