The communal forest is what defines the boundaries of our villagedomain. Therefore, the communal forest is the beginning of "our village." The communal forest has various important functions such as being a playground for the villagers, a venue for village events, a common workplace. It also helps prevent natural disasters and its timber is used for economic gain of the village.

However, within contemporary society, our communal forests have been decimated due to overdevelopment and over-modification. Many voices are calling for preservation of these forests.
