An earthquake with a magnitude of 7.3 on the Richter scale hit Haiti on January 12, 2010, causing widespread human suffering. 3 million were affected by the earthquake. The cries of people trapped in the rubble of devastated building was haunting to listen to according to reporters.
After news of the earthquake spread worldwide, aid began to flow into Haiti from all over the world. Rescue teams and medical organizations were dispatched to Haiti. Korea also sent a rescue unit on January 15th followed by medical volunteers, Korean relief organizations, Korea Electric Power Corporation staff, Good Neighbors and other aid groups.
This documentary will center around the team of Korean rescue workers who have been deployed to Haiti to aid the nation's distressed people while also showing the destruction wrought by the earthquake. The activities of other foreign aid groups that are helping to rebuild and heal Haiti will be brought to viewers as well. After examining the contributions of Korea's foreign aid in the last 10 years, the program will explore international aid that unites the world and has a positive impact on the international community.
