The Mother of lost
Manila is the capital of the Philippines, a country made up of 7,000 islands. It is where both traces of Western civilization and indigenous culture can be found. After the Philippines' liberation, chaotic political circumstances ruined its economy and it worsened as natural disasters swept over the nation before the turn of the century. In addition, over 40% of the working population is dependent on agriculture and those without jobs are leaving to support their families from overseas. Women who can't afford to do that sell their bodies to survive. Over 500,000 sex workers are estimated to be in the nation, and 20% of them are believed to be minors. Cecilia is a woman who has dedicated her life into preventing human trafficking and rehabilitating girls whose lives were ruined by prostitution. Through Cecilia's human rights activities, we look into the suffering that human trafficking has inflicted upon the girls.
