In recognition for his exemplary legislative services, National Assemblyman Yu Ki-hong was granted an outstanding parliamentarian award by The Association of National Local Newspaper. As a history major, Assemblyman Yu Ki-hong is the 'first' assemblyman for many activities regarding history and education issues.
Currently serving as the Secretary of the Education, Culture, Sports & Tourism Committee at the National Assembly, he is working on Korea-Japan history issues such as the Great Kanto Earthquake Massacre of Koreans. He is also the first Korean Assemblyman to be included in an Australian history textbook for middle school students.
