Darren Vaughan is an Australian chef and the creative director of Kraze International Inc. He was a senior chef de partie of the three star Michelin restaurant Gordon Ramsay and has worked for many top-class fine dining restaurants including Al Muntaha in Dubai and Bayswater Brasserie in Sydney.
As the creative director of Kraze, Chef Vaughan constantly creates new menus. In July 2012, he came up with a burger that was named after his own name 'Darren Burger' in which he combined the taste of Korean and Western cuisines by adding Kimchi in it. Darren Burger is a larger burger made with a large beef patty, grilled pineapple, bacon and white Kimchi coleslaw. Chef Vaughan distinguishes Darren Burger from other Kimchi burgers that it has a very Western or Australian flavor with some Korean influences, whereas the other Kimchi burgers in Korea have a distinctive Korean flavor. Darren Burger has been very popular in Korea and Chef Vaughan keeps making various efforts to improve Korea’s dining culture.
On today's Heart to Heart, we've invited Chef Darren Vaughan to talk about Darren Burger, his life as a chef as well as his life in Korea.
