Kim Dong-ho is the founder and honorary festival director of the Busan International Film Festival (BIFF) who is also known as the president of Korean movies. He is currently the Chair Professor and Dean of Graduate School of Cinematic Contents at Dankook University. The BIFF is the first international film festival in Korea which was founded in 1996. The festival has now established itself as one of the most significant film festivals in the world and Honorary Festival Director Kim Dong-ho is certainly at the center of this great achievement. He has worked for the growth of the BIFF for 15 years and as he retired in 2010, he was appointed honorary festival director of the BIFF.
Honorary Festival Director Kim Dong-ho recently earned another title by making his debut as a movie director through the film 'Jury.' Although it was a short movie, some of the best actors and crew were cast for it including Actors Ahn Sung-ki and Kang Soo-yeon who played the main characters, and Director Kim Tae-yong of 'Late Autumn' as assistant director. Also the gigantic figures of Korean movies, Director Im Kwon-taek and Actress Son Sook appeared as cameos in the movie. 'Jury' was chosen as the opening film of this year’s Asiana International Short Film Festival.
