- Lee, Kun-pyo, Professor of Industrial Design at KAIST
The paradigm of design has shifted—people no longer look only for sleek design, but design that’s also user-friendly and offers fresh experiences. For this reason user interface and user experience has become an integral element of modern design.
Lee, Kun-pyo was the first in Korea to connect ideas about user interfaces and user experiences to the realm of design. Once a student studying design overseas on a scholarship, now as a professor of industrial design at KAIST he trains students to construct innovative and user-friendly interactive design that puts people at its center. From 2010 to 2012 he contributed his considerable design knowledge in the thriving world of business at the LG Electronics’ Design Management Center.
Currently Professor Lee, Kun-pyo presides over the Human-Centered Interaction Design Lab at KAIST and has taken the global lead in design research. This week on Heart to Heart, we speak with the professor about his design philosophy.
