GOSSIP 1. Kim Tae-hee Honored with "New Currents" Award
Actress Kim Tae-hee wins yet another award - "Best New Actress"! An honor bestowed upon her by university students at the "New Currents Movie Star Awards"! The New Currents Movie Star Ceremony is a part of the film festival held in PyungTaek; the THIRD annual Pioson film festival. The "new currents" winners are voted on by surveys of 500 college students across Korea. Though only in its third year, celebrities like Cha Seung-won, Park Si-yeon, Choung Kyung-ho, and Yoo Ah-in, showed their support for the film festival. Kim Tae-hee is busy with the promotions preceding the release of her new movie, "Quarrel". The actress is the center of attention for press all across Asia! Congrats on the new award, Tae-hee, and good luck on the new movie!
GOSSIP 2. Asia's "Hot Face" Award for Kim Ah-joong!
Kim Ah-joong, a young starlet whose name LITERALLY translates into "the center of Asia"! Fitting name, because that's exactly what she seems intent on doing. Kim Ah-joong was chosen as a winner of the "Hot Face" award, from the "Elle Style cyber-Awards Asia, 2007," held in Hong Kong. Awards from the ceremony are given to artists all through Asia, who have shown excellence in their work. Past winners include Madonna, Kylie Minogue, Marc Jacobs, and Vivienne Westwood - JUST to name a few! Kim Ah-joong took the award for "Hot Face," presented to an artist who has been in the spotlight for the past year. The nominees had also included BoA, Lee Joon-ki, and Jun Ji-hyun. Kim Ah-joong rose to stardom after starring in the 2006 film, "200 Pound Beauty", and won several awards for her solid performance. Since then, everyone has been wondering about what production she'll choose next! 2008's comin... we hope to hear from her soon!
GOSSIP 3. Kate Bosworth & Jang Dong-gun Fall in Love for "Laundry Warrior"
Jang Dong-gun faces his Hollywood debut and is joined by the beautiful Kate Bosworth! The filming of "Laundry Warrior" is finally underway. After Zhang Ziyi pulled out of the movie, the film struggled to find a new leading lady... They were lucky enough to get Kate Bosworth! In the movie, Bosworth plays a strong character who dreams of revenge. Jang Dong-gun has been studying his English since the end of last year and really put his heart and soul into prepping for the film. His lines are in English, his actions are real, AND he falls in love with Kate Bosworth - IN the movie, of course! "Laundry Warrior" began filming in December and its release in theaters is tentatively set for winter, 2008. Although there were a series of small problems, "Laundry Warrior" is on its way!
