Jang Jin-young Returns to Small Screen in Six Years
Actress Jang Jin-young has returned to the small screen in six years. Jang Jin-young has appeared exclusively in feature films since she starred in the sitcom, <Soonpong Obgy> in 2001. Sources say that she will appear in the upcoming drama, <Two Out in the Bottom of the Ninth Inning>, which is expected to air in March of this year. The drama is about love of singles in their 30s and Jang Jin-young will play "Hong Nan-hee," an ordinary worker at a publishing firm.
TVXQ Sets a Record on Oricon Charts
Hottest Hallyu group TVXQ has set a new record in the Japanese music industry. TVXQ recently released their 9th single, <Step by Step>, in Japan and, on the first day the album was released, it hit the fifth place on the Oricon Chart, beating top Japanese singers like Amuro Namie, Morning Gumusume and EXILE. This is their 9th consecutive album to reach the top 10 on the Oricon Charts since their album <Somebody to Love> was released in Japan in 2005.
Bae Yong-jun Pays Over $ 10 Mil. in Taxes
Korea's top Hallyu star Bae Yong-jun's management agency has announced that Bae Yong-jun paid a total income tax of over 10 million dollars last year. About 90 percent of Bae Yong-jun's income came from Japan, where he is affectionately called ''Yonsama.'' But most income was from the sales of his character merchandises such as photo albums and figures, not from his work in commercials, TV dramas and films. Last year, Bae Yong-jun earned over 150 million dollars even though he didn't appear in any films and television dramas
