Hwagak Crafts can not be found in other Northeast Asian countries. It can be found only in Korea. This craft is made by drawing on a thin ox's horn. The ox used for this craft has to be one year old, wildly grown in Korea. Because these oxen are so rare, this was only used for furniture in palaces. Lee Jae-man, an artisan, preserved this craftsmanship for years. Noted for his work, he is the 109th intangible cultural asset. He says that HwaGak craft is indeed a true Korean art.
