Whether you¡¯re winding down from your day or just getting started, join DJ Liz Kim for 180 minutes of awesome music everyday from 2 – 5AM.

Weekday Segments

Project Musician Search
On January 1st, 2010, we launched a music project here on our program.  Once a month we invite an Indie artist here into our studio to talk about their music, their dreams for the future, etc; and we have them play a couple of live songs for us so we can share it with all of you.

We¡¯ve already had Hard Rock, Punk, Ska Punk, Latin, R&B/Electronic, Alt. Rock, Acid Jazz, and many other styles of bands on our show. But there¡¯s still so many more bands we¡¯d love to showcase to all of you.

Youtube Video Blog
As many of you are aware, we created a youtube video blog for our show.  We've slowly been putting up content for all of you to watch and enjoy. Currently we have two main categories up on our channel.

1. Monthly Musician Search Project videos.
2. Music Videos from some of our previous guests.

Now we're still thinking about new content to put up, so if you have any suggestions of what kind of videos you'd like to see, please send us a message to our message board and we'll see what we can do.

We hope you enjoy our youtube channel and subscribe to keep up to date on new uploads.  The link can be found below.

Weekday Corners

Saturday Hour 1 - The Other Side
Though we play many songs by Korean indie artists daily on our show. This corner showcases a specific artist or band every week. We introduce the band, their background, and their music. Occasionally we¡¯ll have a few bands come in to our studio to share with us their music on a more personal level.

Saturday Hour 2 – Same but Different
Have you ever argued over which version of a song is better?  Well in this segment we look at the originals and the covers, remakes, and remixes of some great songs to see what each one has to offer that is either the same or different.

Saturday Hour 3 – Awesome Albums
There are tons of artists and albums out there. But with so many old and new releases, it¡¯s hard to choose. From singer-songwriters, classic bands, modern groups, compilations, and more; we¡¯ll play some of your favorites and some you may never have heard of before, but we promise you they¡¯ll all be awesome albums.

Sunday Hour 1 – DJ Picks
DJ Liz Kim and the rest of the Music 180 team have an eclectic taste in music.  Here we¡¯ll share with you some of our old favorites, and current songs we listen to on our personal play-lists when we¡¯re on the go.

Sunday Hour 2 – The Breakdown
What¡¯s the difference between punk, post punk revival, new wave, gothic rock, glam rock, shoegazing, dubstep, and all those other music genres out there? Here¡¯s where we break it down for all of you. In this corner we will take a category like ¡°rock¡± music and show you the key elements that make it a specific genre.

We¡¯ll be covering a specific style of music and their subcategories in a monthly series, playing you examples of each type of genre or subgenre.

For example:

Week 1 – Rock and Roll
Week 2 – Brit Rock
Week 3 – Rockabilly
Week 4 – Pop Rock

With this kind of a breakdown, you¡¯ll easily be able to learn the history and the differences between music styles.
