1. John: The Olympic swimmers swim back and forth all day long when they are training.
2. Jennifer: I went from home to work, back and forth three times today!
3. Esther: My sister and I exchange clothes back and forth all the time, but she never does laundry!

1. John: If you want to raise a dog, you’ve got to have a lot of patience.
2. Jennifer: Any time I happen to make a mistake, my mom says that she raised me wrong.
3. Esther: Big animals like horses and cows need to be raised in wide open areas.

1. John: If you want to learn English, you need a good dictionary and that’s just the beginning.
2. Jennifer: At the water park there’s a big swimming pool and that’s just the beginning!
3. Esther: When I get home from school I have to do my homework and that’s just the beginning!

1. John: Whatever work you must do, you can handle it if you have a good plan.
2. Jennifer: It takes a lot of hard work to stay in shape and be healthy, but I can handle it.
3. Esther: The best way to handle a big problem is to get help from somebody you trust.

1. John: I know a thing or two about playing the guitar so if you want, I can teach you.
2. Jennifer: If you know a thing or two about computers, it will help you in school.
3. Esther: After graduation from school, if you want to get a good job, you’ve got to know a thing or two about English.
Sept 20
1. John: You don’t have to do all the work by yourself because we can make a team effort!
2. Jennifer: To be successful at work or at school projects, team effort is very important!
3. Esther: Taking care of a family and a home is one of the best team efforts in our lives. |
