S. Korea reports 128,714 new COVID-19 cases on Friday Updated: 2022-08-12 10:08:25 KST

South Korea reported 128-thousand 7-hundred-14 new COVID-19 cases on Friday, down more than eight-and-a-half thousand from the previous day.
The figure is a 15-percent on-week increase, and 50 percent higher than two weeks ago.
Health authorities say the country saw a decrease in the latter half of the week, primarily due to the torrential rain that affected testing.
Concerns also remain over the number of deaths and critically ill.
There were fifty-eight more COVID-related deaths.
Slightly over 450 people are severely ill.
