S. Korea reports 146,364 new COVID-19 cases as of 9PM Tues. Updated: 2022-08-10 09:20:25 KST

South Korea recorded 146,364 new COVID-19 cases as of 9PM Tuesday, nearly 1.3 times more than at the same time the previous week.
Of the new cases, around 44 percent are from the Seoul metropolitan area.
The Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency have noted the need to closely monitor the COVID-19 spread as an increase in people's movements during the summer holiday season is leading to an uptick in infections.
They also added that re-infected patients account for over 5 percent of the new cases.
