Over the last ten years, South Korea's top four conglomerates have accounted for almost 20 percent of the country's overall corporate sales.
This is according to corporate tracker Korea CXO Institute, which says combined sales at Samsung, SK, Hyundai Motor and LG, averaged around 571 billion dollars between 2011 and 2022.
That's 19.9 percent of overall corporate sales totalling nearly 3 trillion dollars.
Samsung took up the largest portion at 8.2 percent, followed by Hyundai Motor with 4 and a half percent, SK and LG with around 4 and 3 percent respectively.
Meanwhile, out of the total corporate bottom line of around 90 billion dollars a year on average, the four companies' average net profit stood at 36 billion dollars, accounting for over 40 percent of the total.
