South Korea will announce measures this week to stabilize people's livelihoods ahead of the national Chuseok holiday.
Finance Minister Choo Kyung-ho said in an emergency economic meeting on Monday that the government will swiftly carry out the measures that have already been announced such as giving farmers subsidies and providing exemptions from tariffs on some imported food products.
He said the government will also announce additional measures to stabilize prices and housing this week.
Choo also said that in order to resolve the labor shortage in key industries, the government will increase the quota for the number of foreign employees and issue E-9 visas for foreign laborers earlier in August.
