Pres. Yoon back to work after week-long break Updated: 2022-08-08 12:28:09 KST

President Yoon Suk-yeol is back to work on Monday after a week-long break.
And when asked by reporters on his way to work about whether Seoul should join the U.S.-led chip supply chain consultative body, the so-called 'Chip Four', here's what he had to say.

"Each ministry is closely looking into the matter from the perspective of our national interest. You don't need to worry about it too much. We will discuss the issue with relevant ministries and protect our national interest."

The comment comes as the South Korean government has reportedly relayed its intention to engage in dialogue with the U.S. on the matter.
The President also added that his vacation served as an opportunity to look back on his career as politician, saying he will focus on the people to better take care of their will.
