S. Korea to announce additional measures to stabilize livelihoods ahead of Chuseok holiday Updated: 2022-08-08 11:39:39 KST

Back on the local front.
A set of measures will be shared this week to stabilize the cost of living ahead of the Chuseok holiday which falls in early September this year.
At an emergency economic meeting on this Monday Finance Minister Choo Kyung-ho said under the planned measures local farmers will be provided with subsidies and exemptions from tariffs on some imported food products.
Also to address the labor shortage in key industries Choo added the government will expand the quota for foreign workers and issue E-9 visas to more non-Korean laborers in the coming weeks.
