Representatives of businesses from South Korea and Japan held their first official meeting in three years in Seoul today.
This is the Korea-Japan Business Council, convened by South Korea's Federation of Korean Industries and Japan's Federation of Economic Organization.
The two sides discussedremoving export curbs and resuming a currency swap between the two nations.
They signed a joint statement to improve cooperation and build better a relationship.
The meeting had been held every year since 1983, but was stalled for three years due to the pandemic.
The last meeting was held in Japan in 2019.
