The first of four cube-shaped nanosatellites carried into space by South Korea's homegrown space rocket Nuri has been successfully ejected.
The mini-satellite was released from a performance verification satellite that reached orbit on June 21st.
The Ministry of Science and ICT announced that information from the cube satellite was received early Thursday following separation on Wednesday afternoon.
They added that it appeared to be spinning around, and will need time to find a stable orbit.
The four cube satellites were developed by local universities for research purposes, and are scheduled to be ejected every two days.
The first one satellite released was developed by Chosun university students.
