South Korean retail giant Shinsegae Group was the seventh largest retail firm in Asia in 2021.
The franchise moves up two notches from the previous year and is the only South Korean firm in the top 10.
This is according to market research firm Euromonitor… that ranks the top one hundred retailers in Asia based on sales.
The report said, Shinsegae's 2021 acquisition of eBay Korea helped the group's strong performance.
Looking at the top 20, Coupang was 11th, followed by Lotte.. while Internet-giant Naver was 15th.
Chinese retailers were the top three firms with Alibaba topping the list.
Euromonitor said Asia is expanding its influence in the global market… with annual growth of 7-percent expected until 2026.
