North Korea on Tuesday reported around 96-thousand new cases of COVID-19 or people with symptoms of "fever," as the regime has been calling it.
That's almost five thousand fewer than the day before.
No new deaths were reported by the North's state-run Korean Central News Agency but South Korea's Unification Ministry is concerned the spread of COVID-19 coupled with the drop in external goods entering North Korea will worsen the regime's "chronic" food shortages.
Pyeongyang has remained unresponsive since mid-May to Seoul's offer of working-level talks on COVID-19 assistance.
