Top diplomats, nuclear envoys of Seoul, Washington, Tokyo slam missile launches Updated: 2022-05-25 11:16:25 KST

The top diplomats of South Korea and the U.S. have slammed North Korea's missile launches and agreed to cooperate in a push for a new UN Security Council resolution against the regime.
During phone talks a matter of hours after the launches, Seoul's foreign minister, Park Jin, and his U.S. counterpart, Antony Blinken, described the North's actions as (quote)"a grave provocation" that threatens regional peace and stability.
South Korea's top nuclear envoy, Kim Gunn, and his American counterpart, Sung Kim, also held phone talks, where they expressed deep concerns and reaffirmed their stance of cooperating with the international community against military activity by the North.
Kim also discussed North Korea issues with the director-general of the Asian and Oceanian affairs bureau of Japan's foreign ministry.
