At the summit of the Quad group of countries today in Tokyo, the leaders of the United States, Australia, India and Japan have reaffirmed their shared goal of a free and open Indo-Pacific region.
In their joint statement issued on Tuesday, the four countries agreed to a new joint response plan, which will include an information-sharing system to deter China's illegal fishing in the region.
The summit also covered the Ukraine crisis President Joe Biden slamming Russian forces for provoking what he called a humanitarian catastrophe and trying to extinguish Ukrainian culture.
