Russia claims to have taken complete control of the Azovstal steel plant.
The defense ministry announced on Friday local time that the last group of soldiers holding out in the area had surrendered.
The ministry also released videos of fighters walking out of the steel works to be checked by Russian troops.
Ukraine has yet to confirm Moscow's claims, but this comes after the fighters were ordered to stand down.
Azovstal was the last stronghold of Ukrainian resistance in Mariupol following weeks of fighting.
