With the summer coming up Seoul city is to provide support for underprivileged citizens to keep them cool during the worst of the heat.
The assistance includes giving electric fans to 16 thousand households and nearly 80 U.S. dollars for 1 thousand households to help with air-conditioning costs.
The city is also aiming to reduce outdoor working hours for street cleaners, and will water roads frequently to reduce the impact of the urban heat island phenomenon.
Seoul City will also provide Ozone forecasts twice a day for six months until October and inspect 740 businesses that dispose of volatile organic compounds which are the main cause of Ozone.
