President Joe Biden has announced a new era of partnership between the U.S. and ASEAN.
According to the President, on Friday, at the second day of the U.S.-ASEAN Special Summit in Washington D.C., attendees discussed many issues such as the pandemic, climate change, and education.
Biden added that the discussion reflects how important the Pacific and ASEAN countries are to the U.S.
It is the first time in six years that the U.S. has invited ASEAN leaders to mainland U.S.
A total of nine ASEAN countries were invited to the summit.
Meanwhile, President Biden will visit South Korea from May 20th to 22nd, as part of his Asia tour, for the first ever summit with President Yoon.
