The 'World Archery Championships 2025' will be held in the city of Gwangju in South Korea.
Gwangju Mayor Lee Yong-seop said during an online briefing on Monday that the decision was made by the executive board of world archery and he received the news on Sunday evening.
This city was selected ahead of Madrid, with 10 votes to one.
This will be the third time that South Korea will host the event, following on from Seoul in 1985, and Ulsan in 2009.
Some 11-hundred athletes from 90 countries will participate.
