For the first time since April, Japan has lifted its nationwide coronavirus state of emergency.
This means that business such as restaurants and shops in Japan's major prefectures including Tokyo and Osaka will be allowed to operate after 8 PM.
Attendance caps will remain for public events and venues such as concerts and sports facilities but more people will be allowed to attend.
Japan's decision to "coexist with COVID-19" comes as the country's infection rate has shown a significant decline.
Last week, Japan logged just above 18-thousand new cases, which is around seventy-one.five percent of South Korea's tally from the same period.
