The U.S. Deputy Secretary of State, Wendy Sherman, will visit China Sunday, as the two superpowers look to navigate their frosty relationship.
The State Department says Sherman will meet Chinese officials, including Foreign Minister Wang Yi, in Beijing.
The focus of her visit is expected to be North Korea.
The State Department reiterating that Washington and Beijing share a common interest when it comes to the regime.
While noting there are issues between the two, the U.S. insists it'll explore areas of cooperation where their interests are aligned.
