The publication of a controversial paper claiming Tokyo's wartime sexual enslavement of so-called "comfort women" was voluntary prostitution has been postponed.
The article by J. Mark Ramseyer, a Mitsubishi professor of Japanese legal studies at Harvard University is not to be published in the March issue of the International Review of Law and Economics.
One of the journal's editors-in-chief Eric Helland said the postponement is in place until Professor Ramseyer submits a rebuttal against the academic criticisms his paper has received including a lack of evidence and fundamental error in his deductive process.
